How Sergey Petrossov Went All-In and Created a Billion Dollar Company Before Age 30

Many people in their 20’s are proud of finally moving out of their parents’ basement, but Sergey Petrossov is proud to be the innovator behind a marketplace for private jet transportation called JetSmarter. This company is now valued at over $1.5 billion and is backed by a variety of notable investors such as the Saudi royal family and Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, celebrity rapper.

Sergey Petrossov moved to the United States when he was four years old. He has lived in California, Colorado, and South Florida. He attended the University of Florida and has had the entrepreneurial spirit since he was 18 years old. It did not take long for him to discover that he had a knack for starting companies and was interested in the tech field.

Sergey PetrossovSergey Petrossov discovered a need, back in 2009, for a way to connect private jets sitting on the ground, not in use with passengers that needed to get into the sky.  Once he began digging, he found an inefficient system of private jets flying empty for repositioning and those same jets only flying 200 hours a year when they could be flying 1,500 hours a year. He knew there had to be a better way to utilize resources and get people where they need to go.

Over time, Sergey Petrossov has grown his company and now employs over 260 people all over the world. JetSmarter flies in the United States, the Middle East, and Europe. There are also plans to soon be in China, India, and South America. The corporate headquarters are in Fort Lauderdale, FL and there are also offices in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, London, Moscow, and Zurich.
