MAGFAST is a technology startup that offers a family of wireless chargers. Five chargers work together to provide power to nearly every device out there, including Samsung and Apple ones. The family of chargers was the idea of entrepreneur Seymour Segnit.
There are six chargers that magnetically attach. The WallCharger provides a wireless charging solution that fits into a wall outlet. The LifeCharger is a portable charging device that stores enough power to charge a smartphone multiple time. The LifeCharger Extreme has the max power that is allowed by the FAA to be taken on an airplane.
The RoadCharger is meant to be kept in a vehicle. It has 4 USB outlets. The AirCharger can stand on its own or be combined with the WallCharger. The TimeCharger is specifically designed to charge an Apple Watch. It can power this watch for up to two weeks.
Seymour Segnit says he came up with MAGFAST because he got tired of dealing with wires and cables. He wanted a solution that looked elegant when charging a device. Rather than a nest of wires all over the counter, you can just set your device on top of the WallCharger.
The MAGFAST family will be released in late 2019. It is being launched using a crowdfunding campaign. Supporters of the crowdfunding effort get a gift and a tree is planted to help make the world a greener place.
After learning about engineering at Oxford University, Seymour Segnit started a long career in the advertising industry. Among the major advertisers he worked for was Ogilvy & Mather. He could also once be heard on London’s biggest radio station. From 2013 to 2016, he worked for a startup that offered USB chargers.
