Among the nominees were the head of the investment bank division of Bradesco, Jose Luiz Acar Pedro and Vale President, Roger Agnelli. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Calli emerged the top for his long duration at the bank and his impressive work over the years. He took the seat in March 2009, succeeding Cypriano who left the position because he had reached 65, the maximum age for a top executive at Bradesco.

Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi took over the Presidency mantle at dark times in the country’s economy. Financial analysts had predicted that the loan growth would decline compared to the years before. Bradesco had just lost the first position ranking to Itau Unibanco at the time of his take over.
